Ok folks, this blog is all about our current in class novel Shadow Spinner by Susan Fletcher. Click on each Posting below to contribute. See the Homework sheet for required blog entries. Others are voluntary, but it certainly can't hurt your overall participation grade :) NOTE: COMMENTS WILL BE DISABLED FROM TIME TO TIME
My favorite aspect of Susan Fletcher's novel is the description. It's vivid and immediately gives my mind a sense of what this time and place really is.
ReplyDeleteI'm writing this on sunday to get a head start on HW: I think that it is foreshadowing that Marjan will live at the palace so everyday she can tell a new story to be told to the sultan. i also agree with mr.k and think that the detail she uses is perfect because the reader can experience what she is talking about.
ReplyDeleteGood ideas Kurt, now everyone else. Relax, use a voice that is honest and true. IM-style is fine. Don't forget to keep it positive (even when you disagree). Keep it rolling.
ReplyDeleteOh, by the way Kurt...What part do you think is foreshadowing?
ReplyDeleteI agree with special k and kurt with their ideas but i also think that along with Kurts idea that she will stay in the palace and tell the sultan a new song every day but I do not think it will be easy. I think she will have to think carefully and find a new story every day. Then eventually she will have to start making up her own story. Does anyone else have any new ideas?
ReplyDeleteSheherazad (did I spell that right?) doesn't sing songs for the Sultan, she tells stories.
ReplyDeleteI currently agree with Chris, Mr. K and Kurt pretty much, but also I think Marjan will tell Sheherazad some stories that will take more than one day.
I am thinking that Marjan will be living in hiding, or as one of the children in the whuts-it-called. Then if she gets paid, she can send the money to her aunt, and the aunt's husband can buy goods, and then the aunt can sell them and meet up with Marjan.
ReplyDeleteTwo people can come up with way more and more interesting stories than one, by idea sharing, so Scheherazade will work with her to tell stories.
For Nicky (and all the other confused people) the spelling is either Scheherazade (most common), Scheherazadea, Shahrazad or Shahrzād.
Oh, and all the stories take one day, but it's set up so that one story is finished and the next begun in one night.
ReplyDeleteWikipedia time!
If it was that way, wouldn't the Sultan not be lost in suspense and save Scherazade's life for one more day, and then have this keep on happening?
ReplyDeleteFirst, I think Anton got it right when it was Shahrazad (I think).
ReplyDeleteI'm going the go talk about some other stuff than what other ppl were talking about. I loved how the author described the royal palace (or whatever it was called). It really helped because I didn't have a clue on what it would like. I had in mind something like the Cathedral of St. Basil in Moscow, but it was very different than what I expected. It was a background on the image and life of ppl in the palace at that time.
Next, just as a prediction, like Anton said, I believe that Marjan will hide in the palace because if the sultan finds out that Marjan has been telling Shahrazad the stories, he will kill Shahrazad.
Image of Cathedral: http://www.flickr.com/photos/marantzer/2539281210/
I agree with Eric and Anton on the fact that Marjan will hide in the palace and if found Shahrazad will be killed. My 1st thoughts were tht it would stink to be shahrazad, telling a story to save ur lyf EVERY NIGHT. Plus having three kid with the jerk. When we first meet Shahrazad she seems very paranoid.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Nice pic Eric looks very pretty.
I think that if the Sultan found our what Marjan was doing, he'd kill both Scherezade and Marjan.
ReplyDeleteI have a prediction that the Sultan will figure out that Marjan is helping eventually but Im not sure what hes gonna do about it (besides being very mad at first)...maybe he will even accept Marjan as his new story-teller?!?
ReplyDeleteShaharazad seems to be very stressed out about her job as a nightly story-teller. What Im wondering is, is she worrying just because of her own life being in danger? Or for everyone else's life too?
Wow, guys! this is so intense!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Leland, Anton, Val, and Eric that when Marjan is found, she and shaharazad will be killed. But i think that since Marjan doesn't know that many new (to shaharazad) stories, i think she will make new ones up! I also think that the since the palace is so big, one day marjan will be roaming around and the Sutan will find her. Also, i was wondering why all the women didn't escape the town and leave????!!?!?!?? why would they stay to be killed?
I also think that Shaharazad is worried about everyone including herself, to answer val's question
Valerie, I think that if the Sultan figures out that Marjan is helping Shaharazad, he would kill her like he did to all of his other wives that failed in telling a good story. The only way that he would find out was if someone told him.
ReplyDeleteIf Marjan does become the Sultans new story teller than Shaharazad would be killed.
I think that in the end either the Sultan, Marjan, or Shaharazad will die in the end. it's almost to good to be true (ha...sultan) if all of them live. I agree with Sophia though that if marjan is the story teller, shaharazad would be killed.
ReplyDeleteThe women do try to leave the town, or at least some of them. Some guy illegally smuggles them out. I forgot his name.
ReplyDeletegood! at least some were trying to get away! thanx 4 the info!
ReplyDeleteThe rest of them probably stay in fear that they'll get caught, and that they'll live a shorter life than they already thought they would.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that is very smart. i would totally be like: IM OUTTA HERE! but if they got caught, at least the wouldn't have to marry the Sultan who they knew would kill them! do u get my drift?
ReplyDeleteThat's what the people that escape think.
ReplyDeletewow there are a lot of posts on here already! i feel so outa it! n.e.way i agree with all the people who think that the sultan will kill shaharazad if he finds out that marjan is helping her because that wasnt part of the deal. also i think that shaharazad will tell some of her old stories to marjan and marjan will create new endings or something so that they can somehow be retold. or the otherway around.
ReplyDeleteI don't think just changing an ending would impress the Sultan. Do you remember how Scheherazade got angry when Marjan told a story that she'd already used, and explained that the Sultan was unhappy when she retold a story? If the Sultan can remember some of the first stories, he'll recognize the first part and think that she's telling the same story.
ReplyDeleteYou've got the idea folks. Now let's get EVERYONE in the class responding. Take in whatever direction makes sense.
ReplyDeletei really like this book so far because like Kurt and mr.k said it has great discription and this is the first book i have like in a long time in class. i actually want to read more
ReplyDeleteI think that this book is way way way way way better then Catherine Called Birdy. The beginning was easy to predict but I have millions of ideas of what might happen.
ReplyDeleteMarjan might have to marry the person who is cutting off everyones heads. Marjan might get her head cut off at the end. Maybe
ReplyDeleteI agree with pretty much everyone. I think Marjan will continue to relate stories to Shahrazad and will eventually get caught. Her lame foot might also become something later on in the story.
ReplyDeleteAlex, i also think that the sultan might find out about marjan, and maybe kill sharharazad
ReplyDeleteand/or Marjan.
ReplyDeleteyeah, i agree with alex that if the sultan found out, marjan and shaharazad would both be killed. maybe even shaharazad's sister!!!! i think that marjan will have a bigger chance of being found now that she is at the harem
ReplyDeleteI think that one day Shaharazad is going to tell a bad story one day and will get killed then Marjan will have to tell the king storys. But then i think one day the king will die and then everyone will be free of worry about if they tell a good story to him or not =]
ReplyDeleteLets hope so sam
ReplyDeleteie
ReplyDeleteI found this cool link to the various "Arabian Tales" that Sheherazade may have told.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.arabiantales.org/history-of-fisherman/greekkingphysician.html
You can read them. However, just to get a feel for it, scroll to the end of each story so you can imagine how Sheherazade ended her stories with a cliffhanger.
The Sulton must die!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteBut I think Marjan is going to go out and collect stories for Shaharazad. She'll find herself in one hek of a story!
Now that Marjan is living in the palace, i think that Shaharazad is depending on her 2 give her ideas about stories. Shaharazad may b worried that she might b killed bcuz she cant think of any stories.
ReplyDeleteMost stories have happy endings so even if the sultan finds out that shaharazad is getting stories from marjan,he might not kill them. He might let them live; as long as Shaharazad or marjan is telling stories.
At the moment, we don't know if Scheherazade will completely rely on Marjan for her stories or if she'll be able to provide some more of her own. It'll probably be both ways.
ReplyDeleteyeah, i mean she sometimes could make up tales like she said so maybe she can give marjan a break. i predict that sometime towards the end marjan will get a chance to go back home.
ReplyDeletemaybe if marjan is caught, she and shaharazad will alternate telling stories as long as they are new. that would be a good solution...until they run out of stories
ReplyDeletemarjan will probably help shaharazad tell stories. if they can tell really good stories they might make a never ending story together. that would probably help alot of women. she might even become a hero
ReplyDeletei think that she already is a hero, though.
ReplyDeleteYa Pauli, I agree!! Also I think that Marjan will enjoy her new position. Maybe learn more about Sharhrazad and be friends with her?
ReplyDeletei think that in the end shaharizad will die and marjan will tell stories for her
ReplyDeletegrim
ReplyDeletebut true (if im a sikic)
which we all know is true
ReplyDeleteWow! we already have 43 comments and its only the second day. (44 after i post this)
ReplyDeletei feel bad for marjan. i dont think that it was nice for shaharazad to take her away from her family. but marjan might benefit from moving to live in the palace. it was also kinda cool how her day dream sort of really happened. this is a really interesting book.
oops. now we have 48 comments
ReplyDeletewhy would shaharazad die? i dont think that she is that old.
ReplyDeletelol@jack
ReplyDeleteAnd she would die because she would get killed by the Sultan.
oh boy.
ReplyDeleteOh boy we've been posting a lot?
ReplyDeleteMy eyes hurt from reading all this
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletewhat i like about this book is it has great imigry so you feel like you are realy in the city or the castle just great disciption!
ReplyDeleteha yeah i can see the herim in my mind when we read it. but it is also the awesome way special K (ooo that ryhmes lol) reads it to us
ReplyDeleteI love the imagery well at least most of it not those guys that have had their important parts cut off I dont like that imagery
ReplyDeleteoh lol yeah hahahahahahahaha
ReplyDeletethose guys scare me. does anyone know why they do that? Is it like a custom in a palace?
ReplyDeleteoh got it i was a bit confused
ReplyDeleteIt's probably also a custom in palaces.
ReplyDeleteThere's still a number of others who need to respond to the initial question. Please keep it going. All responses due by Friday.
ReplyDeleteFrom todays reading I think that Marjan will go to saharizad and then eventually the sultan will find out that marjan is telling the stories to saharazad and kill saharazad and then marry marjan
ReplyDeletethat took a long time to read, i agree with jack that the sultan will kill shahrazad and marjan will then take over for her
ReplyDeleteShaharazad is still telling good stories so why would he kill her?
ReplyDeleteum maybe she will tell a bad story that would make the sultan mad? then marjan could do the same thing that shaharazad did and ofer to marry the sultan.
ReplyDeleteshe might run out of stories to tell and one night he will be like " Now you must Die because i didnt hear a story" but i think together, marjan, dunyazad, and shaherzad will run away with auntie em and uncle eli
ReplyDeleteDunyazad is Shaharazads sister, right?
ReplyDeleteand if she keeps telling stories for a couple more years that is so many night and only so many more good stories. i think that shaharazad should kill the sultan and that would sovle her problem.
ReplyDeleteyeah i think so
ReplyDeleteI think the the Sultan may be actually okay with Marjan and Shahrazad coming up with stories together (if and when he finds out). He may think of the fact that the stories may be better when they're working together on them. As for Marjan's stories, she might take stories from her life as Shahrazad probably grew up wealthy or became wealthy when she married the sultan. Marjan would have stories of life when you're not as wealthy and that may interest the sultan (or make him hate poor ppl even more).
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Marjan will enjoy the life in the harem or if she'll get stressed out and get that mask of darkness on her face or whatever she was talking about, worried that she may be killed too if a bad story is told?
Wow, you guys can really WRITE.
ReplyDeletehaha nicole that would be smart, like next time he is killing a slave she could grab the weapon from behind and kill him
ReplyDeletei think that dunyazad will end up playing a bigger part in the story
ReplyDeleteYes, she is. For sure.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, think of the name that this story's based on. ;) If you don't know what I mean, don't try to think it out.
Its kinda obvious Nicky. That's, like, the beginning of the story.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it sorta weird how 5 posts come up while I'm typing post?
ReplyDeleteAnd ya, it would definately help if someone just killed the sultan, it doesn't haev to be Shahrazad or Marjan, maybe just a gaurd. It could save thousands of women especially if the next sultan continues those ways of killing women. As for the title "Shadow Spinner" the shadow part is probably about the shadow Marjan was talking about on shahrazad's face since she's stressed and worried. It could also be about how a shadow is mysterious and the end of each story is open-ended and a mystery.
i totally agree they should kill him by choking him with a cherry that they put in his mouth while he is asleep
ReplyDeleteKilling the king would be a hugely bad expense, and you'd be killed also, most likely.
ReplyDeleteI meant offense.
ReplyDeleteI think that the sultan will kill shaharazad and then marjan will become the new wife and will begin neww stories
ReplyDeleteAlso rebellions might happen though, so the lower class could upraise against them, the person who killed the king would die, but lives would be saved
ReplyDeleteo btw i no som1 alredy said my comment but i dont ccare cuz i dont feel like reading the hole thing
ReplyDeletekilling the sultan would be a great disision because shaharazad would inheret all of the money and marry his brother, but you never know he might be evil too. do you agree, why
ReplyDeletebut does the sultan have a brother? you don't know
ReplyDeleteIf there weren't such bad consequences for killing the king, it would be a good idea.
ReplyDeleteshaharazad might not inherit all the sultans money. It might go to some random family member
ReplyDeletebut that 25% might be very pwerful
ReplyDeleteI think that the book is really great so far.
ReplyDeleteI think that shaharazad will tell a really bad story and get killed
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletewe've gotten so into killing maybe eventually the sultan will just die and saharazad will be free. I also think that marjan will get paid and then send it home and eventually she will turn into the mayor, but thats just a possibility.
ReplyDeletemaybe the sultan will die but I think that she will tell a bad story and she will die. Or maybe he will die.
ReplyDeleteI just can't wait to read it.
I think the book has great description and has great stories.I think they will keep telling stories but then make a plan to kill the Sultan.
ReplyDeletemaybe nikhi or maybe not
ReplyDeleteHello! After reading all the posts my eyes are as dry as the Rub Al Khali desert, I just made one of my dads "really" hilarious jokes LOL ):
ReplyDeleteI think that Sharharazod well probably die and Marjan well have to tell stories to the Sultan for the rest of her life!!!!! but than the Sultan dies 2 days later.
well Samch i think that to but i dont think Sharharasod will die two days later but maybe like a week or a couple days before that. i liked the ends of the chapters because like how Sharharazad have to tell Sultan the new storties every night and they cant make him yawn and it has to make the Sultan want to hear more. it's really interesting so far. what do you guys think will happen next?
ReplyDeleteNo the sultan well die 2 days later. sorry for the No they pop out and scare you and make you sad, I', sorry.
ReplyDeleteI,m not sure why and how the Sultan well die.
he will totally die because of all the people he has killed. people that loved them will murder him of course, its the perfect crime. buh buh buuuuuuummmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteHey, i have two ideas as to what will happen in this book. 1) I think that when marjan gets back she might arrive during a big fight. This fight i think will be beetween the sultan and shaharzad because the sultan found out that Shaharazad herself didnt think of the story. Shaharazad will be killed and the sultan will see marjan standing there and demand that she now tell him storys. Im currently leaning more towards my second idea though 2) It said in the book that Sharazad wasa having trouble finding stories. Thats why she was so desprate for marjans story. It also said that shaharazad is bad at making up storys and that marjan is good at making them up. (See where this is going?) I think that instead of finding old stories shaharazad will eventually turn to marjan who will make them up. OR marjan will make it up and give the story to shaharzad under the pretense that its a old tale
ReplyDelete#1 is a pretty harsh way to write a story about storry telling jack but could happen. i think the sultan will defenatly die and so will shaharazad at the end when marjan is the great hero and everybody lives happily ever after.
ReplyDeletei argree with zack and i also think that marjan will be cought but sharzad will take the blame and be killed then marjan will marry the sultan. that would the story really exciting
ReplyDeleteexellent deduction jack but The sultan has to die or marjan has to die it just makes an intense story. Jack u could sicic this blog is adicting
ReplyDeletethanks for agring nicole but im going to have to to disagree with the last sentence. i think youre forgetting about her lame foot. but you never know , she could marry him just to tell stories and not be a WIFE if you know what i mean.
ReplyDeleteWHEW! i have ANOTHER idea. I know right, am i not the coolest person u all know? THIS on is that shaharzad will run out of ideas and that she will go to the sultan anyways and attempt to tell a good story. Marjan will beg shaharazad to let her go and make up a story as she goes (because shes better at doing that) but shaharzad wont let her risk it and walks into impending doom. BUM BUM BUUUUUUM! but marjan wont take no for an aswer and sneaks along too. Just as sharahzad made-up story is faltering and the sultan dude is gettin bored marjan jumps in from a clever hiding spot and turns the story around! The sultan is pleased!
ReplyDeleteAnd they all lived happily ever after.
my moms mad at me for being on the blog so long I must leave after this statement or I get in trouble. #1 is cool #2 is a little bit of wish full thinking or maybe not. maybe the place where marjan is staying gets destroyed by an earthquake and they all die. I think the ending is going to have no excitement. By
ReplyDeleteNO jack jack you are not the coolest person i know. marjan would never disobey shaharazad and it never says she is good at making up storys.
ReplyDeletei think that jacks last thought could be correct but how would she get into the sultans bedroom it probly has guard at his bedroom door
ReplyDeleteJack: For your first idea, I was thinking that would the sultan would marry Marjan because of her lame foot? I know it was an "accident" (I kind of think that it may have been an accident or someone tried to hurt her.)but will the sultan think she's worthy enough even though she can tell great stories? As for your #2 idea, I think Marjan may make some stories up but might go back to the city and try to find more stories since that's where she got some good ones in the bazaar. Good ideas though
ReplyDeletei got to go too after this, im studing for social stdies. maybe no body dies and they work it out as long as they both tell the sultan at least one story each weak.peace,im out.
ReplyDeletei thought she was born with her lame foot and that her uncle was lying about the aciddent
ReplyDeleteI do think the sultan has to die but i also think that shaharzad is going to too. i also realize how open-ended my last comment is. I think that after this marjan and shaharzad and the sister (forgot her name) will hatch an ingenious plan to assanate the sultan. It wont work and they will be caught by the "gaurds" but as the "gaurds" are about to kill them. marjan and shaharazad convince the gaurds of the sultans "evilness" the gaurds will then turn on the sultan and THEN they will all live hapily eva afta.
ReplyDeleteGotta live hapily eva afta my peeps. U just gotta.
I agree with zack on how Marjan would probably not disobey Shahrazad's orders. She's like royalty to her, and she admires her- never wanting to make her mad
ReplyDeletesorry zack but i still think that sharazad or the sultan dies
ReplyDeleteand nicole, nobody really knows if it was an accident or if the uncle was lying. Maybe Marjan was told a lie that she was born like that. DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNNN!
ReplyDeleteyou've been seeing to many action movies Jack, even those ideas are ok. But I don't think gaurds would ever disobey the sultan. I mean their EUNACHS and like mr. k said they're mean, lean, fighting machines!
ReplyDeleteTOO ADDICTING. no nicole there must be away to solve this monstrosity taht they are dealing with. the sultan may get over what happend with his wife that cheated on him. he could just settle down with his family.
ReplyDeletei really like this blog it makes me think about the book alot more than i thought i would. did we even read about how old marjan is cause if we did i forgot. she might be too young to marry the sultan. she could only be thirteen for all we know.
ReplyDeleteI think dat Da book Shadow spinner is a coolio and interesting book. I also think dat Marjan is a interesting character.
ReplyDeleteWhen Marjan and Auntie chava go to da castle, that seems like an intersting experience. Marjan and Auntie chava are dressed very differently than THe rest of the people there.( OF course though beacause they are selling stuff to the rich people)
I agree with Eric and i dont think dat guards would disobay the sultan either.
a response to Nicoles question. DUH. marjan will beat the gaurds up. jk. NOt really sure, its a good question. But she could get the sister to do a distraction. THe sis is probably just as worried aboot shaharazad as marjan. Actually shes probably more worrecuz shes her sis an all.
ReplyDeletesomeone is probably going to die
ReplyDeleteeither shaharazad or the sultan
I agree wit Jorge and i tink dat someone will definitly die...well probably...maybe
ReplyDeleteidk
I really can't wait till we read another part of this book it is getting intense right?
ReplyDeleteya it is getting intense...lol
ReplyDeleteErics probably right. the "lean mean farting machines" probably will not disobey the sultan. MARJAN WILL BEAT EM UP! BUT i do think that marjan would disobey Shaharazads orders. The fact that she Idolizes shaharazad makes this even MORE true. Think about it. She would do anything for shaharzad. Do you really think that she would watch her die?
ReplyDeleteWait did anyone anwser zachs question on how old marjan is????
ReplyDeleteI have no idea how old marjan is but I don't think he is that old he could be in his 20s
ReplyDeleteI don't think Marjan would want to watch shaharazad die but if shaharazad did she would probably have to tell the stories and be at risk because marjan doesn't know what stories shaharazad has told the sultan. you know. So maybe
ReplyDeleteUM...... Jorge?.... Marjan is a girl. And i think that marjan is probably like thirteen becauase in the beginning of the book it said that they had adopted her about eight or so years ago.
ReplyDeletelol....Jorge propbably ment to say girl...maybe...lol
ReplyDeleteAnd if she is only thirteen then she is not old enough to marry da solten as Zack said earlier....so like yea
sorry guys i got mixed up with the sultan he was going through my mind sorry but i got it strait now thanks for telling me.
ReplyDeleteHaha waz kind of funny but dont worry Jorge i waz coinfuzed in the begin to because they got there parts taken off. But i have a questiont, is Shaharazad a girl or a boy? and the sultan is a boy. Right? Im kinda confuzled about dat :)
ReplyDeletea while ago, people would marry at a very young age, marjan could marry the sultan... i dont think that she wants to though.
ReplyDeletekomal,
ReplyDeleteshaharazad is a girl, and the sultan is a boy, he is the ruler of the country.
Do we know now old Scheherazade was when she married the Sultan for the first time? If we knew her age now, we could figure out how old she was when she married the Sultan.
ReplyDeletei is wierd why would a 13 year old want to marry an older person?
ReplyDeleteBut atleast we don't do that now
komal it wasn't that funny. u messed up too
i dont think that it has said anything about shaharazad's age in the book yet.
ReplyDeleteThink about Catherine Called Birdy, Catherine's that same age and was going to be forced to marry older guys.
ReplyDeleteI just made the number up. But I do think it is wierd.
ReplyDeleteLater I might research how old Scheherazade is supposed to be. Then we can compare.
ReplyDeletewouldnt u have 2 read ahead in the book then
ReplyDeleteYa i do agree dat it is rly kinda wierd dat they married older men back then...but dat iz jst wat dey did...soooo...yaaaaaaa.....
ReplyDeleteNicky made a gud comment about Catherine!!!!!lolzzzzz
Ok I don't think that Marjan has to tell stories to the Sulton, I think she'll have to gather stories for Scheherazade (spelling? sorry)
ReplyDeleteYa i agree wit lauren... Beacause on da back of the book it says dat she has to help Shahrazad gather new stories
ReplyDeleteI also agree with lauren K because marjan is only gathering stories for shaharazad.
ReplyDeleteAnd what if the Sultan gets killed, so Shaharazad marries his brother and is FREE!!!! Or his brother is exactly the same as the Sulton, so it's just one more obsticle in Shaharazad's depressing life. The acorn doesn't fall very far from the tree
ReplyDeleteSophia, the 1001 Arabian Nights story is a classic story, and which this book is based on. It shouldn't be too hard to find information on websites, and I wouldn't be spoiling the story as this book is different from the original.
ReplyDeleteThere is also a possibility that either Shaharazad or Marjan might run away from the Sultan's palace.
ReplyDeleteThIs this based on another book, or a legend written into myriad books?
ReplyDeleteI also agree with Lauren K. on Marjan gathering stories. Though Marjan might sneak out of the palace without anyone knowing, not even Shaharazad.
ReplyDeleteDOES THE SULTAN ACTUALLY HAVE A BROTHER?
ReplyDeleteHow is she going to do that? Think of how secure a palace is going to be.
ReplyDeleteShaharazad isn't allowed to leave the castle. That's why she'll send Marjan
ReplyDeleteMarjan isn't stupid. If anyone might find away, it would be Marjan.
ReplyDeleteAnd it doesn't say that the Sultan has a brother, but you never know. People are all focused on the Sultan's killing of people
ReplyDeleteThere also might be some secret passage the Sultan doesn't know about.
ReplyDeleteI think that shaharazad and marjan might want to run away but as nicky said there is alot of security because if you were a girld who was at risk of dying wouldn't you want to run away? but if you can't well that is just too bad. but we will have to wait and see what hapens i just can't wait
ReplyDeleteWhy would there be a secret passage? I have no idea wuts happenning i just got on
ReplyDeleteI don't think so, Alex. It's his castle, after all. Shaharazad may attempt to escape, but she will get caught
ReplyDeleteA secret passage would be pretty cool cause then someone would kill the sultan and then i would be right in my original hypothesis. yeah!!
ReplyDeleteI guess. But if she is sent to gather stories, how will she do it?
ReplyDeleteoh I wasn't folowing it at all. maybe shaharizod made the passage and told marjan about it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the Sultan doesn't care about Marjan and only cares about decapitation and stories
ReplyDeleteIm confused I dont know wuts hapenning ): did u guys read ahead.
ReplyDeletethere could be a secret passage way and both of them could escape
Alex she is probably very clever
ReplyDeleteNo i didnt read ahead im just thinking randomly about things that probably wouldn't happen
ReplyDeleteIf shaharizod and Marjan both left, there would be a greater risk of getting caught. Not to mention someone might reconize shaharazod.
ReplyDeleteWhy do you let ur cat on the keyboard, Samch? And the Sultan can't not make them leave if he's dead
ReplyDeleteBut im sure marjan and shaharizod would be forced to stay anyway, even if the sultan dies. I doubt they would just be realesed.
ReplyDeleteAlex does have a piont if they sneak out someone might recognize them and report them.
ReplyDeletewow we have 173 comments maybe we'll get up to 200 tonight thats like everyone writing 10 comments each keep blogging. By the way marjan didn't know what shaharizod looked like so other people might not know and the could cover their faces.
ReplyDeleteI think that if they did try to escape, the hardest part would be getting out, not staying safe outside.
ReplyDeleteBut what about the secret passage way that everyone was talking about.
ReplyDeleteIthink we are all forgetting that marjan isn't a super hero and is not afraid of anything. she could just leave shaharazad to die by the sultan if she is fed up with being away from her aunt.
ReplyDeleteKomal i think taht shaharazad is a girl if the sultan is attracted to her
ReplyDeleteI think that marjan will try to help shaharazad as much as she can, but eventually they will have to start making up stories. Also i think the sultan will start seeing what Shaharazad is doing for the other girls in town and love shaharazad for who she is, not for her stories.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ryan, because eventually they'll have to run out of stories to tell. Maybe, even though Shahrazad is reluctant to make up stories, Marjan will make one up and Shahrazad will like it. Or maybe she'll make one up and not tell Shahrazad it's made up, and it'll be so good that it won't be suspected of being made up.
ReplyDeleteBRAVO CORE 705 - you have handled this very well!
ReplyDelete
