Find the Suspense!

Using your Shadow Spinner novel (you'll need to take it home). Write a short passage from the story where Susan Fletcher (the author) builds suspense. Put the passage in quotes.

After you write the quote, discuss what the author does to build the suspense in the story. What words or literary devices does she use?

Also, agree or disagree with what other bloggers have written and give some feedback.

Lastly, please review the rubric so you can make sure you receive maximum points.

Writing for kicks! (CLOSED)

Shadow Spinner really explains Persian cuisine (food and meals) beautifully. What's your favorite food or meal? Try and tempt us by writing a very short description of your favorite food.
Here's mine...

A velvetty, gooey layer of fresh mozzerella blankets over tangy tomato sauce. The pepperoni and sausage are tender and fresh. Black olives choke the crust and artichokes lie as shrapnel. (If I'm feeling funky) some pineapple adds a subtle sweetness and crunch. It winks with steaming oil after running the slow marathon through the pizza oven. My pizza. BACK OFF.

Giorgios in San Jose has my favorite local pizza pie.
